What is the difference between a world city and a global city?
Q. My textbook (A Sociology of Globalization by Saskia Sassen) says that most global cities are also world cities, but some are not world cities in the full sense of the term. It also says that world cities refer to a type of city that has been seen over the centuries, particularly in a lot earlier periods in Asia or European colonial centers. I still don't get what the difference is. When I looked it up online, Wikipedia said that they are the same thing, but I need to know the difference.

A. In simpler times, there were mega-cities and capital cities. Mega-cities originally were defined as those having a population in excess of 4 million people. While capital cities were the seat of their nations, regardless of size. Today, things are far more complicated and mega-cities have grown both in number and in size. In her 1991 book, "The Global City," Saskia Sassen referred to economic hubs, specifically New York, London, and Tokyo, as "global cities." The basic idea was that all of the world's economic activity flowed through these urban conglomorates. How do city people walk their dogs and keep them from pooing on the sidewalk?
Q. I have always lived in country-like areas and was always wondering how people in the city walk their dogs and where they walk them. I want several dogs when I move out and I want to socalize them properly and you can't really do that on a country road. Also, if/when your dog(s)poops on the sidewalk, how do you clean it up, I know people use dog bags but where do you keep the bags, in your pocket(before use!)? Where do you put the bag of poo? BTW I have owned dogs before and we currently do own one, I've just never seen how people walk their dogs in a city. Thanks for all your quick responses! A couple of people said they take their dogs to the park, when your dog messes there, do you have to clean it up? What if you don't notice… [cont.]

A. I'm pretty sure ANY dog will just poop if it needs to go enough, so there's nothing special about any of these other people and their pooches lol. Keep the plastic bags in your pocket. When you pick up the poo, you just have to carry it until you come across a trash can. Thanks for being concerned about it!

So I am black and he is white. we have been living in canada in a nice safe places where people are very very nice and not racist at all. we are looking for this kind of area to live in the usa because my husband job sent him there. we have two young kids and they don't know people's colour because they have friend from all over the world here in canada. we feel very guilty to take this previlege away from them but no too much choice because of work.
